Spark Science Center is located on the Abilene Heritage Square Campus.

Spark is open on Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-4:55pm. Though visitors are admitted up until 4:55pm, we recommend starting your visit by 4pm at the latest to allow for a full visit. Our gift shop closes each day at 4:45pm. See our hours on the “About” page for holiday closures.

Each visit is a self-guided tour, so visitors may take as long or as short a time as they like. We recommend allowing for an hour to an hour and a half to allow time for our many interactive stations, as well as the outdoor park.

No, Spark is not a part of the library and cannot be accessed via the library building. The Main Public Library is a short walking distance from the Spark Science Center building. There are maps located on our campus to direct you to where you would like to go.

We ask that our visitors only bring water into the museum. Even in our outdoor park, food and drink other than water is prohibited. Any other food and drink will need to be placed at the desk near reception.

Yes! We would love to host your child’s birthday party. Contact Marsha Hammack at sciencedirector@thegracemuseum.org. See our Birthday Party Rentals Page for more details. We are happy to coordinate with you via phone or email on the dates that work best for you. Once your invoice is paid, we will reserve the room and space. Birthday parties start on Saturdays at 8:45am, so that the party can explore the exhibits an hour before they open to the general public.

We are a children’s science museum and have multiple interactive exhibits for children of all ages, though we do require adult supervision. One exhibit, our flight simulator, is for children 10 and older.

The museum is one floor, so the entire museum is wheelchair accessible. We have one ramp platform marked with caution tape for safety. While most exhibits have text for all to read, one exhibit does have audio without captions available. Service Animals are accepted.
